Job Description

Responsibilities:


As an Automation Engineer in the Global Technology Unit team, your main tasks include:

  • Designing, mplementing and supporting automated workflows using UiPath RPA, Microsoft Power Automate and other related technologies
  • Integrate automation solutions with enterprise systems and platforms (e.g. SAP, SharePoint, APIs, databases, and cloud services) by leveraging REST APIs and connectors to enable end-to-end process automation across multiple systems
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to assist in analyzing and mapping end-to-end business processes, identifying automation opportunities and optimization potential
  • Define automation scope, requirements, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with business objectives
  • Design scalable and maintainable automation solutions, including exception handling strategies and human-in-the-loop considerations where required
  • Participating in testing activities, including any applicable unit testing, SIT, UAT, FAT etc.
  • Creating and managing Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment pipelines to automate the software application release process in-line with BASF best practices
  • Monitoring and optimization of implemented solutions and the relevant infrastructure environments they run on, to minimize service disruption risks by analyzing metrics related to system/application health
  • Supporting implemented solutions through troubleshooting and rectification
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design documents, runbooks, and support materials
  • Collaborate with technical teams across BASFs technology landscape within the automation domain
  • Ensure automation solutions adhere to BASF technology standards, security policies, and integration guidelines
  • Apply governance practices for Power Platform and RPA environments, including access control, auditability, and compliance requirements

Requirements


Education:

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology or business-technology related discipline.


Working experience

  • 3-5 years’ experience in automation development using UiPath and Microsoft Power Automate, including workflow design, reusable component development, exception handling, and application of RPA best practices (e.g. REFramework, orchestrated execution, scalable design patterns)

Technical Skills (mandatory):

  • Proven ability to integrate automation solutions with enterprise systems (e.g. SAP, SharePoint, databases, cloud services) using REST APIs, connectors, and data exchange mechanisms
  • Solid understanding of data structures and processing (e.g. JSON, XML, SQL) to ensure reliable end-to-end automation
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated deployment practices
  • Ability to design and execute testing strategies (unit, integration, UAT) to ensure quality and stability of automation solutions
  • Strong understanding of automation governance and security principles, including access control, environment management, and compliance with enterprise IT standards
  • Ability to design and implement solutions aligned with Power Platform and enterprise governance models, ensuring auditability and controlled scalability
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure ecosystem (e.g. Databricks, Azure SQL, Data Factory) and broader data services to support automation use cases
  • Demonstrated strength in producing and maintaining clear, structured technical documentation (e.g. solution design, process documentation, runbooks) to support maintainability, auditability, and knowledge transfer
  • Working experience in an MNCs setup, with cross-collaboration between multi-disciplinary teams virtually across multiple time zones

Technical and Professional Knowledge (nice-to-have)

  • Exposure to AI development using Microsoft Copilot Studio
