General Summary
Data Axle's Product team is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Product Owner to join our growing team in Pune. This is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals or recent graduates who are looking to build a strong foundation in product management and work hands-on with engineering, QA, and business teams.
As an Associate Product Owner, you will support the end-to-end product lifecycle by helping manage product backlogs, writing detailed user stories, assisting in QA coordination, and ensuring successful task-level execution. This role will expose you to real-world product workflows, team dynamics, and enterprise platforms.
We're looking for someone with a problem-solving mindset, strong communication skills, and an eagerness to learn and grow.
Roles & Responsibilities
Product Backlog & Task Management
- Assist in creating and maintaining product backlogs, tasks, and sub-tasks in Jira
- Support grooming sessions by preparing backlog items and organising ticket details
- Ensure task statuses are updated and organised in accordance with sprint planning
Team Coordination
- Follow up with engineering and QA teams for task updates, blockers, and status tracking
- Help document sprint outcomes, bug reports, and QA validation efforts
- Attend internal syncs and share concise summaries with the product team
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain Confluence pages, SOPs, and product documentation
- Support the preparation of product release notes and internal update summaries
Support for QA & Releases
- Assist in manual testing and coordination with QA engineers
- Help track defects, retests, and related documentation
- Participate in release cycle readiness activities and checklist reviews
Learning & Collaboration
- Upskill continuously on product workflows, agile methodology, and tools like Jira
- Learn how to write effective user stories, acceptance criteria, and requirement specs
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and business teams to understand product impact
- You will report to the Senior Product Owner and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders
- Tools you may be exposed to: Jira, Confluence, Excel, Google Workspace, QA tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field
- Strong interest in product management, process improvement, and agile delivery
- Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive approach
- Strong collaboration and task-tracking skills
- Exposure to project or product tools like Jira is a plus (not mandatory)
- Awareness of AI tools or current technology trends is an added advantage
