In Finance, Legal Global Solutions, we enable Novo Nordisk to fulfil our purpose by safeguarding the business, providing corporate infrastructure, and driving value creation. We are a team of 2,300 colleagues primarily based at our headquarters in Denmark and our Global Business Services centres in India and Mexico.

The Global Legal, Intellectual Property, and Security (GLIPS) department at Global Business Services (GBS) in Bangalore is a cornerstone of support for Novo Nordisk s global legal and intellectual property functions. With a focus on efficiency and high-quality delivery, GLIPS GBS operates across three key sub-teams, ensuring operational excellence, risk mitigation, and compliance across global operations. The department fosters a collaborative and dynamic atmosphere, where diverse expertise drives success in the legal and intellectual property domains.

The position

As an Associate Legal Counsel, you will play a key role in supporting Novo Nordisks contracting activities across multiple lines of business. Working at the intersection of legal expertise and commercial pragmatism, you will ensure our agreements are robust, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Contract Drafting, Review Negotiation

• Review contracts prepared on the basis of Novo Nordisk standard templates as well as contracts received from counterparties, ensuring compliance with appropriate laws and internal policies
• Prepare and draft contracts in collaboration with Global Legal lawyers when no standard template is available
• Provide end-to-end support for contract review, negotiation, and coordination with relevant stakeholders until signature
• Respond to complex contractual queries with clear, commercially sound guidance

Risk Identification Compliance

• Identify risks and issues within contractual terms and conditions, suggesting alternatives that lead to the best possible outcome for the business
• Analyse contract requirements and content to ensure alignment with applicable laws, Novo Nordisk policies, and compliance standards

Process Improvement Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across Procurement, business units, and Global Legal to ensure alignment on risk standards and contracting approaches
• Support the development of templates, playbooks, and guidance materials that drive consistency and efficiency across contracting workflows
• Actively share ideas and contribute to continuous improvement of legal processes and work quality

Qualifications

Were looking for an Associate Legal Counsel who thrives in a dynamic, global environment and brings a solid foundation in contract law combined with a proactive mindset.

Youll bring with you:

• A Masters or Bachelors degree in Law
• 3+ years of experience supporting the legal department of a global corporation in drafting, reviewing, and redlining contracts
• Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions, including risk mitigation and negotiation strategies
• Understanding and experience of end-to-end Contract Lifecycle Management
• Personal drive and ability to innovate and improve processes and work product
• Exposure to a contract management tool is preferred
