Job Description
Role Overview:
The Associate Dean & Associate Professor will provide academic leadership, support strategic development of the School of Hospitality and Tourism, ensure quality teaching, research, industry engagement, and academic administration in accordance with UGC regulations and university policies. The role involves strengthening industry-integrated learning, promoting research and innovation, and supporting curriculum development aligned with global hospitality and tourism standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership
- Assist the Dean in planning, implementing, and monitoring academic programs of the School.
- Contribute to the strategic development and growth of hospitality and tourism programs.
- Ensure compliance with UGC, NAAC, and regulatory guidelines.
- Support the development of interdisciplinary and industry-integrated programs.
Teaching and Learning
- Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in hospitality and tourism management.
- Develop innovative teaching methodologies including experiential learning, simulations, and case-based learning.
- Guide students in internships, projects, and industry exposure programs.
- Mentor students for academic and career development.
Curriculum Development
- Design and revise curriculum in line with NEP 2020 and UGC guidelines.
- Integrate skill-based learning, internships, and apprenticeship models in hospitality education.
- Develop industry-oriented certification programs.
Research and Publications
- Conduct high-quality research and publish in UGC-CARE/Scopus indexed journals.
- Guide research scholars, dissertations, and student projects.
- Promote collaborative research with hospitality and tourism industries.
Industry Collaboration
- Build partnerships with hotels, tourism boards, airlines, and hospitality organizations.
- Facilitate internships, industry visits, live projects, and placements.
- Organize guest lectures, workshops, and industry seminars.
Academic Administration
- Assist in accreditation processes (NAAC, NBA, etc.).
- Support student admissions, academic planning, and faculty development.
- Participate in academic committees and institutional initiatives.
Faculty Development
- Mentor and support faculty members in teaching, research, and professional development.
- Encourage collaborative research and academic innovation.
Student Development
- Promote entrepreneurship and innovation in hospitality and tourism.
- Encourage student participation in competitions, research, and industry events.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- Ph.D. in Hospitality Management / Tourism Management / Hotel Management / Hospitality Administration or related discipline.
- Master s Degree in Hospitality / Tourism / Hotel Management with minimum 55% marks from a recognized university.
- Minimum 8 years of teaching / research experience in university / college as Assistant Professor.
- Experience in academic administration or leadership roles preferred.
- Minimum 2-5 research publications in Scopus indexed journals.
- Evidence of research guidance, funded projects, or consultancy will be an added advantage.
- Industry experience in hospitality or tourism sector.
- Experience in curriculum development, accreditation, and academic administration.
- Strong industry network.
