About the Role

We are looking for an Associate FSS Controls to support the Level 2 Accounting Controls team. The role focuses on performing independent control testing, reviewing accounting controls, monitoring control outcomes, supporting audit remediation, and strengthening the overall finance control environment across entities in EMEA.

The position offers exposure to Finance, Accounting, Banking Operations, Financial Controls, Audit and Regulatory/Management Reporting, with regular interaction across Finance and control functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform and review Level 2 accounting control testing and assess control quality.
• Identify control gaps and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain control justification tools, including updates and testing for new activities.
• Monitor accounting control outcomes using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
• Track the status of Regional Finance procedures and review activities.
• Monitor and track internal and external Finance audit recommendations.
• Liaise with Regional Finance teams and other control functions.
• Prepare periodic control reports for Regional Management.
• Support remediation of control process issues and identified gaps.
• Maintain updated procedures and documentation for controls operated by the Level 2 Controls team.
• Participate in Finance projects related to Accounting Controls.
• Contribute to the operational permanent control framework.
• Support automation and standardization initiatives related to accounting control processes.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Accounting and Financial Auditing.
• Experience in Accounting Controls / Internal Audit / Financial Controls.
• Banking and Financial Services experience is mandatory.
• Knowledge of Banking Products and Financial Instruments.
• Knowledge of IFRS is preferred.
• Good understanding of accounting processes and control frameworks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and control mindset.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.

Educational Qualification

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred.
• Masters Degree / Accounting Degree or equivalent qualification with relevant experience.

Experience

• 1-3 years of relevant experience in any of the following:
• Accounting Audit
• Internal Audit
• Financial Controls
• Accounting Controls
• Finance Control functions within Banking / Financial Services
