Job Description


Role & responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing

  • Source and procure electronic components such as PCBAs, ICs, semiconductors, passive components, connectors, cables, displays, power supplies, sensors, batteries, and electromechanical parts.
  • Develop and execute commodity sourcing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Participate in Engineering Change Orders (ECO/ECN).
  • Identify and qualify alternate suppliers to mitigate supply risks.

Supplier Management

  • Evaluate, negotiate, and onboard suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, technology capability, and financial stability.
  • Conduct supplier performance reviews and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on capacity planning, lead time reduction, and cost optimization.

Procurement & Planning

  • Ensure timely procurement of materials to support production schedules and new product development.
  • Monitor supplier commitments, expedite critical materials, and proactively manage shortages.
  • Coordinate closely with Planning, Stores, Production, and R&D teams.

Cost Management

  • Lead commercial negotiations for pricing, payment terms, and long-term agreements.
  • Drive annual cost reduction through value engineering, localization, alternate sourcing, and productivity initiatives.
  • Monitor commodity market trends and electronic component pricing.

Quality & Compliance

  • Work closely with Supplier Quality and QARA teams to ensure supplier compliance with ISO 13485 and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Review and process Supplier Product Change Notifications (PCNs), End-of-Life (EOL) notices, and alternate component approvals.
  • Support supplier audits and corrective action initiatives.

SAP & Data Management

  • Create and maintain Purchase Info Records, Source Lists, and vendor master data in SAP.
  • Monitor procurement KPIs, inventory levels, lead times, and supplier performance metrics.
  • Generate procurement reports and support data-driven decision-making.

Preferred candidate profile

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
  • MBA or PGDM in Supply Chain (preferred).

Experience

  • 4-6 years of experience in sourcing electronic components.
  • Experience in Medical Devices, EMS, Automotive Electronics, Aerospace, or Industrial Electronics preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with global sourcing and supplier management.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of electronic components and their applications.
  • Understanding of PCB manufacturing, PCBA, BOM structures, and EMS operations.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor supply chain and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with SAP (MM module), MRP, Purchase Orders, and Inventory Management.
  • Good understanding of Incoterms, import logistics, and customs procedures.
  • Familiarity with ISO 13485, IPC standards, RoHS, REACH, and regulatory compliance is desirable.
