Assistant Mines Manager

• Grade M4
• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech. in Mining Engineering with First Class Manager's Certificate of Competency (Metal)

KeyResponsibilities: 1. Drilling Blasting Operations

• This is Statutory Assistant Mines Managerposition and incumbent is expected to deliver duties of Assistant mines mangeras defined in Statue.
• Plan and execute drilling and blastingactivities to achieve production and dispatch mine development targets.
• Drive drilling and blasting excellencethrough optimized blast designs, efficient explosive utilization, superiorfragmentation quality, and enhanced productivity.
• Monitordrilling productivity, blast performance, and equipment utilization.
• Coordinatewith mine planning and production teams to ensure seamless mining operations.

2. Safety,Statutory Environmental Compliance

• Ensure fullcompliance with the Mines Act, Mines Rules, Metalliferous Mines Regulations(MMR),
• 1961, DGMSdirectives, Explosives Rules -2008, PESO guidelines, and Vedanta's Safety .
• ImplementSMP, HIRA, JSA, and safe blasting procedures across all blasting operations.
• Conductpre-blast and post-blast inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure safehandling, transportation, storage, and consumption of explosives.
• Monitorblast-induced vibration, fly-rock, dust, noise, and environmental impacts.

• Ensureproper inventory management and statutory record maintenance of explosives,detonators, and accessories.
• Monitor explosive consumption andoptimize powder factor to improve blasting efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with explosivemagazine safety standards and security requirements.

• Supervise drilling and blastingteams, including contractors and operators.
• Develop workforce competencythrough training and safety awareness programs.
• Ensure contractor compliance withoperational, safety, and statutory requirements

• Prepare and monitor drilling andblasting schedules in line with production plans.
• Analyse blast performance and implement continuous improvementinitiatives.
• Control drilling and blastingcosts through optimization of explosive usage and equipment productivity.
• Coordinate with geology, survey, production, and mechanical teamsfor effective execution.

ExperienceSkills:

• 8-10 yearsof experience in mechanized open-cast metal mining operations.
• Strong knowledge of blast design, explosivemanagement, vibration control, and fragmentation analysis.
• Experiencein bauxite mining operations preferred.
• Strong leadership, planning,analytical, and problem-solving skills
