Assistant Manager - Packaging

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Packaging Development professional with 3-4 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding of various packaging materials, dispensing systems, and packaging machinery operations, particularly within the Personal Care Products sector. This role requires excellent communication and analytical skills, along with strong domain knowledge, and a preference for experience in the FMCG domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle entire packaging development as per brief.
• Identify new material, technology, and suppliers for packaging materials and processes.
• Conduct packaging material testing, transit trials, and machine trials.
• Support product development and brand teams in various new product development initiatives.
• Finalize PM Specifications, BOMs, and other documents after completion of successful tests and trials.
• Develop new/alternate vendors for procurement of existing and new packaging materials in coordination with the procurement team.
• Manage artwork approvals and proofing of packaging designs.
• Handle quality and process improvement projects to facilitate higher productivity and/or user convenience.
• Identify and implement PM related cost optimization initiatives for the business.

Requirements

• Candidate should have an experience of 3-4 years in a packaging development role.
• Experience in Packaging development of Personal Care Products is desirable.
• Possess excellent communication and analytical skills, along with strong domain knowledge in packaging development activities within a user industry.
• Knowledge of various printing processes and decoration techniques.
• Strong technical understanding of major Packaging materials (e.g., Plastics, Paperboard, Glass, Metal).
• Basic technical understanding of various package dispensing systems (e.g., pumps, valves, tubes).
• Good knowledge of various package testing methods.
• Familiarity with operations of common packaging machines (e.g., Bottle Filling, Form-fill-seal, Flow wrapping, Labelling).
• Ability to define packaging component specifications.
• Preference: Experience in FMCG domain would be preferred.
