About the Role
The role of Assistant Manager Design entails designing rooftop and ground-mount solar power plants, conducting site visits for detailed engineering, and preparing comprehensive bills of materials and layouts. Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVSyst software, and knowledge of electrical switchgears and solar system components are essential. The candidate will lead process improvements, uphold engineering standards, and collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams. This position requires working out of our Bengaluru office.
Key Responsibilities
  • Designing of roof top and ground mount ongrid , off grid and hybrid solar power plants, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine the suitability of locations for solar installations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop detailed engineering plans, including electrical schematics, layouts, and specifications.
  • Preparing detailed BOM, PVSyst, sketch up for shadow analysis for solar power plant layouts.
  • Preparation of all drawings such as Plant PV Layout, SLD, Earthing Layout, String Layout, DC and AC cable routing, LA and MCS Layout.
  • Closing all engineering drawings as per master drawings list.
  • Able to perform calculations such as Cable Sizing, Earthing, DC String Configuration and MCS.
  • Able to do cable schedules for all power, control and communication cables.
  • Knowledge on zero export and DG synchronization.
  • Ability to handle LT panels, HT panels, and transformers will be an added advantage. Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel during construction, operation, and maintenance activities.
  • Oversee the installation and commissioning of solar power systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • The ability to work independently while being responsible for obtaining approval for designs by coordinating with clients and project managers, and manage multiple projects responsibly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to electrical components and systems in solar power plants.
Educational Qualifications
  • Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering/EEE/ECE or related field.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems, electrical work, and project execution.
  • Must be a local Malayalam-speaking candidate to effectively communicate with local teams and stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with industry safety standards and practices.
Software Tools:
  • Must Have: Autocad, Google Sketchup, PVsyst, MS Office etc.
  • Added Advantage: Helioscope, HOMER Pro, Etap
Qualifications
  • B.Tech/B.E./M.Tech/M.E./Diploma in Electrical Engineering/EEE/ECE or related field.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in designing solar power plants.
  • Minimum 6 years relevant work experience for diploma candidates.
Required Skill-Set
  • Ability to design solar systems (On-grid, off-grid and hybrid systems).
  • Should be able to handle clients, vendors and coordinate with internal team members.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations such as NEC, IEEE, and IEC.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
