Assistant Human Resource Manager

Role & responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR operations at the plant.
• Handle manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, and deployment.
• Manage employee and workmen relations and address HR-related grievances.
• Coordinate with production and functional teams on manpower requirements and HR matters.
• Support attendance, leave, payroll inputs, overtime, and HRIS activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Coordinate with contractors/vendors and maintain contract labour documentation.
• Support implementation of HR policies, processes, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Manage performance management, confirmation, transfers, promotions, and other employee lifecycle processes.
• Conduct employee engagement activities, HR communication, and welfare initiatives.
• Support disciplinary processes and documentation in accordance with company policy.
• Maintain accurate HR records, reports, MIS, and statutory documentation.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders during audits and inspections.
• Support training and development initiatives for plant employees and workmen.
• Drive HR initiatives related to 5S, employee discipline, productivity, safety culture, and continuous improvement.

Preferred candidate profile

• MBA/PGDM in HR / Human Resources or equivalent qualification.
• 7-10 years of relevant experience, preferably in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• Strong knowledge of HR generalist functions and labour-related processes.
• Working knowledge of applicable labour laws and statutory compliance.
• Good communication, interpersonal, and employee-handling skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced plant environment.
• Strong MS Office/HRMS skills and ability to prepare HR MIS.
• Candidate should be willing to work from the plant location and interact regularly with employees/workmen.
