Assistant General Manager

The ideal candidate will possess proven leadership and team management experience in multi-location operations, a deep understanding of the pre-owned automobile ecosystem, and a tech-savvy, process-oriented approach to building systems and checks. Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities are essential for driving operational excellence and people management.

Role Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and data-driven Assistant General Manager to lead our Inventory and Fuel Operations. This individual will be responsible for managing the end-to-end tracking of car inventory and fuel usage across our pan-India locations. A strong background in the automobile domain, operational excellence, and people management is key to this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory Management: Oversee the complete lifecycle of car inventory across all hubs and channels. Implement technical checks and SOPs to ensure accuracy, availability, and quality of vehicles. Coordinate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams for inventory flow optimization.
• Fuel Tracking & Optimization: Build and manage systems for real-time fuel tracking and consumption across fleets. Identify and reduce fuel pilferage, improve efficiency metrics, and reduce operational wastage.
• Pan-India Operations Management: Handle multi-location operations and ensure process standardization across the country. Build strong regional teams and act as the key escalation point for any operational challenges.
• People & Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow cross-functional teams across locations. Drive a performance-driven culture with accountability and continuous improvement.
• Data & Reporting: Use data to monitor KPIs and provide insights to leadership. Drive data-backed decision-making and continuous optimization of operations.

Requirements

• 3-10 years of experience in automobile inventory management, fuel tracking, or fleet operations.
• Strong data and analytical skills; experience with Excel, dashboards, or analytics tools is a plus.
• Proven leadership and team management experience across multi-location operations.
• Deep understanding of the automobile ecosystem especially pre-owned cars.
• Tech-savvy and process-oriented, with experience building systems and checks.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in companies like Spinny, CarDekho, or logistics/fleet-focused startups.
• Experience with ERP/Inventory Management tools and Fuel Management Systems (FMS).
• Engineering or MBA background preferred.
