The Assistant Engineering Manager is a full-time, on-site role at Hard Rock Hotel Goa in Calangute. Job Description
The Assistant Engineering Manager supports the Engineering Manager in overseeing daily maintenance operations. This includes ensuring all hotel systems, equipment, and facilities are functioning efficiently and safely. The role also involves preparing reports, tracking budgets and inventory for engineering supplies, and contributing to the continuous improvement of property infrastructure and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
- Supervise engineering and maintenance team members.
- Monitor vendor and contractor activities.
- Assist in managing engineering projects.
- Maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with other departments to minimize operational disruptions.
- Prepare reports related to engineering operations.
- Track budgets and manage inventory for engineering supplies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of property infrastructure and guest experience.
Requirements
- Strong Engineering Management and Project Management skills to oversee maintenance activities and support capital projects.
- Proven Team Leadership skills to guide, coach, and coordinate engineering and maintenance staff effectively.
- Practical knowledge of building services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems) and hotel facility operations.
- Diploma or degree in Engineering or a related technical field, preferably with experience in hospitality or large commercial properties.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, maintenance schedules, and safety guidelines.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Readiness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
- Experience with maintenance management software and familiarity with local safety and regulatory requirements in Goa or India is an advantage.
