Architect (Hospital Projects)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of architectural concepts, layouts, and detailed drawings for hospital projects.
• Develop working drawings, construction drawings, and presentation drawings using CAD and BIM software.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP, interior, and landscape consultants to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Support the review and approval of architectural drawings submitted by consultants and contractors.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and specifications.
• Assist in resolving architectural and site-related issues during construction.
• Ensure compliance with local building by-laws, National Building Code (NBC), fire safety regulations, and hospital design standards.
• Prepare quantity estimates, material specifications, and architectural documentation.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for material selection and mock-up approvals.
• Maintain project documentation, drawing revisions, and records.
• Participate in project review meetings and prepare progress reports.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture (B.Arch).
• Registration with the Council of Architecture is preferred.
• 13 years of experience in architectural design or execution.
• Experience in hospital or healthcare infrastructure projects is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Revit/BIM.
• Familiarity with SketchUp, Lumion, or similar 3D visualization tools is an advantage.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Understanding of healthcare planning guidelines, NBC, fire safety norms, and accessibility standards.
• Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.

• Knowledge of construction methodologies and site coordination.
