API Automation Tester

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain API automation test frameworks.
• Create, execute, and manage automated test scripts for REST and SOAP web services.
• Validate API functionality, reliability, performance, and security requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Develop test cases and test scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
• Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Generate test execution reports and provide quality metrics.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and business analysts to ensure quality deliverables.

Required Skills

Technical Skills

• Strong experience in API Testing using Postman, Swagger, SoapUI, or similar tools.
• Experience in API automation using:
• Rest Assured (Java)
• Selenium with TestNG/JUnit (preferred)
• Karate Framework or equivalent
• Good knowledge of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, and HTTP protocols.
• Experience with version control tools such as Git.
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as Jira.
• Understanding of SQL and database testing.

Programming Skills

• Java (preferred)
• Experience in developing automation frameworks.
