Role & responsibilities
- Feature Development: Design and build advanced, user-centric features for our Android app, including live video streaming, interactive test/quiz engines, and online video/PDF downloads.
- Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams (Backend, UI/UX, QA, and Product Management) to define, design, and ship new features rapidly.
- Code Quality & Architecture: Write clean, maintainable, and eAicient code in Kotlin and Java. Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application.
- API Integration: Connect the Android application with backend services and external APIs securely.
- Debugging & Optimization: Identify and fix bugs, resolve UI/UX inconsistencies, and continuously optimize app performance to ensure it runs smoothly across a wide range of Android devices and network conditions.
- Innovation: Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new Android technologies and best practices to maximize development efficiency and app performance.
Preferred candidate profile
Education: B.Tech/B.E. or M.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 2 to 5 years of proven software development experience, specifically in building and publishing native Android applications.
• Core Tech Stack: Strong proficiency in Kotlin and Java, along with a deep understanding of the Android SDK and Android Studio.
• Architecture Design: Experience with Android architecture components (MVVM/MVC), LiveData, ViewModels, and Room Database. • API & Networking: Solid experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and networking libraries like Retrofit or Volley.
• EdTech Specifics (Bonus): Prior experience implementing media players (like ExoPlayer), DRM for video security, and handling heavy concurrent traffic.
• Version Control: Proficiency in using Git/GitHub/Bitbucket for code versioning and collaboration.
• Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills, logical thinking, and a passion for solving complex technical challenges.
