Job Description
Role & responsibilities:
Application onboarding to Akamai WAF: Supported onboarding of various enterprise applications to Akamai Web Application Firewall (WAF), ensuring enhanced protection against security threats.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Worked closely with application development teams and QA testers to gather inputs, configure, and refine WAF rules, ensuring that both security and business needs were met.
Implementation of Advanced WAF Features: Assisted in implementing key security features in Akamai WAF, including Anti-Bot protection, DDoS mitigation, rate limiting, and custom security rules, enhancing application security posture against automated attacks and malicious traffic.
Risk Assessment & Threat Mitigation: Identified and mitigated potential threats by proactively monitoring WAF logs, suggesting adjustments to configurations and ensuring protection against application layer attacks (e.g. OWASP top 10).
Enhancing WAF Efficiency: Tuned WAF Security rules after analyzing WAF traffic reports thereby reducing false positives, enhancing efficiency of the configured security rules.
Advocating Security Best Practices: Promoted secure coding practices and security awareness by advising development and QA teams on best practices to minimize vulnerabilities that may trigger WAF rules.
Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Presented traffic analysis and security reports to stakeholders, providing insights into application behavior and offering recommendations for securing applications against emerging threats.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3-5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Soft skills requirements: good written and verbal communication, analytical skills, problem solving skills and stakeholders management experience
Preferred Location: Bengaluru .
Shifts: night shifts (working hrs - US time zone)
