AI Security Engineer

About Position:

The AI Security Engineer role is responsible for securing the end-to-end AI and machine learning lifecycle. The individual will protect AI infrastructure, ensure data privacy for training sets, and defend against adversarial ML threats. This role will integrate security into model development and deployment while providing expert guidance to help customers build and maintain resilient, secure AI environments on Google Cloud.

What You'll Do:

• Design and implement security controls for AI/ML pipelines to protect models and data from ingestion to deployment.
• Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of models and data across the AI/ML lifecycle.
• Conduct threat modelling and security assessments for AI infrastructure.
• Assess risks such as model theft, data poisoning, and prompt injection attacks.
• Collaborate with data science and engineering teams to operationalize adversarial ML defences.
• Implement privacy-preserving techniques such as differential privacy.
• Develop and deliver training on secure AI development practices.
• Design strategies for monitoring AI-specific security telemetry in Security Command Center Enterprise (SCCE).

Expertise You'll Bring:

• Strong background in security engineering with specialized experience in AI/ML security, model protection, and adversarial machine learning.
• Proven experience securing AI infrastructure and cloud-native services on platforms such as Google Cloud, Vertex AI, and GKE.
• Deep understanding of data privacy regulations and technical implementations for securing large-scale training datasets.
• Ability to conduct technical security workshops and communicate complex AI risks to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with AI security frameworks and performing AI-specific red teaming or audits is preferred.
• Familiarity with securing Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) in production environments is preferred.
• Google Cloud Professional Machine Learning Engineer or Professional Security Engineer certification is preferred.
