AEM Headless API Developer

Job Overview

• We are looking for an experienced AEM Headless API Developer to design, build, and maintain headless APIs on the Adobe Experience Manager platform.
• The role involves developing scalable RESTful APIs, migrating traditional AEM components to headless architecture, and enabling seamless integration with multiple frontend applications across a global digital platform.
• The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in AEM development, Sling framework, Java, and OSGi, along with hands-on experience in building APIs using Sling Models and the Exporter framework.

• 4+ years of experience working with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM 6.5+ or AEM as a Cloud Service)
• Strong understanding of the Sling framework and Sling request processing
• Experience developing Headless APIs in AEM using Sling Models and Exporter Framework
• Proficiency in Java and OSGi development
• Hands-on experience in RESTful API design and implementation
• Knowledge of JCR (Java Content Repository) and AEM content modeling
• Experience with Sling Servlets, Filters, and request processing
• Understanding of Headless CMS architecture and best practices
• Experience with JSON serialization and API response formatting
• Familiarity with AEM Content Services and GraphQL APIs
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Headless REST APIs using AEM and the Sling framework
• Migrate existing AEM components to headless APIs using Sling Models and Exporter framework
• Implement Sling Models and Sling Servlets to expose content as JSON
• Develop scalable and reusable API endpoints for multiple client applications
• Collaborate with frontend teams to define API contracts and data structures
• Optimize API performance, including caching and query optimization
• Implement authentication, authorization, and security for API endpoints
• Write unit and integration tests for Sling Models, Servlets, and APIs
• Create and maintain API documentation and integration guidelines
• Troubleshoot and resolve API-related production issues
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards
