Advanced Building Utility Engineer:
Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Building Utility Engineer to join our engineering team and support the design and delivery of Building Utility systems for life science and industrial facilities. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical design, calculation, and coordination of utility systems, including domestic water, hot potable water, sanitary drainage, stormwater, chilled water, heating water, and radiator systems.
You will be involved in activities across all project phases, from concept development and detailed design to construction support, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables that meet customer requirements, project objectives, and applicable industry standards. The role requires strong technical expertise in utility system design, hydraulic calculations, system sizing, component selection, European standards, and multidisciplinary coordination.
Working closely with global project teams, you will develop engineering solutions, perform design calculations, review deliverables, support technical decision-making, and ensure seamless integration with other disciplines. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering fundamentals with a proactive, collaborative, and quality-focused approach to project execution.

How you might spend your days
As our new Advanced Building Utility Engineer, you will:
  • Design and delivery of Building Utility systems across all project phases.
  • Design and size domestic water, hot water, sanitary drainage, stormwater, chilled water, and heating water systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations, including hydraulic calculations, pressure loss calculations, balancing valve sizing, and mixing loop design.
  • Prepare and review utility system layouts, P&IDs, specifications, and engineering documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with European and Danish standards, codes, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate closely with HVAC, Process, Architecture, Electrical, Automation, and other disciplines.
  • Take technical ownership of utility system designs and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Provide technical support during design reviews, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Review deliverables and mentor designers and junior engineers within the discipline.
  • Contribute to proposals, technical studies, cost estimates, and project planning activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement of engineering standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Share knowledge and lessons learned across projects and teams.
  • Stay updated on industry standards, technologies, and sustainable utility solutions.
  • Develop practical and innovative utility solutions while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver world-class pharmaceutical and life science facilities.

What you bring to the role:
  • You have a degree in engineering (BE/Btech) or equivalent.
  • You have minimum 4-5 years of experience in design, system sizing, estimations, preparation of specifications, components selection and hands on knowledge on GEP & standards applicable.
  • Project experience from Basic Design, Detailed Design, Construction, Commissioning/Qualification, and Handover.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Team player.
  • Passionate about your technical discipline.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced project environment.
