Job Description

Role Overview:

Lead the end to end accounting function, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, and timely closure of monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounts. Manage a team of accountants, drive process improvements, and support strategic decision making through financial analysis and budgeting.


Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly/quarterly/year end financial statements in accordance with Indian GAAP/Ind AS and regulatory guidelines.

Ledger Management: Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and bank reconciliations.

Team Leadership: mentor, and evaluate a team of accountsassts; foster a culture of accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement.

Process Optimisation: Implement SOPs, automate repetitive tasks (e.g., via Excel macros, ERP modules), and streamline month end close cycles.

Compliance: Ensure timely filing of statutory returns (GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESIC) and maintain audit ready documentation.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual budgets, monitor variances, and provide actionable insights.

Internal Controls: Design and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent financial misstatements.

Audit Support: Liaise with external and internal auditors, address audit findings, and implement corrective actions.

Technology: Evaluate and support accounting software (e.g., Tally, ) and lead system upgrades or migrations as needed.


Education: Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. MBA/MCOM a strong plus.


Experience: 15 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial/supervisory role.


Industry Preference: Exposure to manufacturing, retail, or service sectors; familiarity with Indian tax laws and GST is essential.


Skills & Competencies

- Strong command of Indian GAAP/Ind AS, GST, Income Tax, and PF/ESIC regulations.

- Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, HAL) and advanced Excel.

- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate numbers into business insights.

- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

- High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
