Job Summary:
The Accounts Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirements, effective budget control, and smooth coordination with internal departments, auditors, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure timely recording of all financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Monitor general ledger, trial balance, and reconciliation of all accounts.
- Ensure timely closure of monthly and annual accounts.
2. Accounts Payable & Receivable Management
- Verify and approve vendor payments as per approved policies and budgets.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and ensure timely collection.
- Review and reconcile supplier, customer, and employee accounts.
- Control and monitor advances, deposits, and recoveries.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor departmental expenditures against approved budgets.
- Analyze variances and recommend corrective actions.
- Implement cost control measures to improve financial efficiency.
4. Taxation & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and other applicable regulations.
- Review and file statutory returns within prescribed timelines.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and regulatory authorities.
- Maintain records required for audits and inspections.
5. Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors.
- Implement and monitor internal financial controls.
- Ensure adherence to approved financial policies and procedures.
- Identify risks and recommend process improvements.
6. Cash Flow & Banking Operations
- Monitor daily cash flow and fund requirements.
- Manage banking transactions, reconciliations, and relationships.
- Ensure optimal utilization of available funds.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and MIS reports.
7. MIS & Management Reporting
- Prepare periodic MIS reports for management review.
- Analyze financial performance and key financial indicators.
- Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
- Present reports on revenue, expenses, profitability, and cost trends.
8. Team Management
- Supervise and guide accounting staff.
- Allocate responsibilities and monitor performance.
- Train team members on accounting systems and compliance requirements.
- Promote accuracy, accountability, and professional ethics.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) / M.Com / MBA.
- C.A. Passed / C.A. Inter
- Professional accounting qualifications will be an added advantage.
Experience:
- 810 years of experience in accounting and finance.
- Minimum 23 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, or service industry preferred.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Sound understanding of GST, TDS, Income Tax, and statutory compliances.
- Proficiency in Tally ERP, SAP, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and team management abilities.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Timely closure of monthly and annual accounts.
- Accuracy of financial reports and reconciliations.
- Compliance with statutory deadlines.
- Reduction in payment errors and accounting discrepancies.
- Effective budget monitoring and cost control.
- Successful completion of audits with minimal observations.
- Timely submission of MIS and management reports.
Authority & Accountability:
- Approve accounting entries within delegated authority limits.
- Verify and recommend payments, reimbursements, and financial transactions.
- Ensure compliance with approved financial policies and procedures.
