Network Security Engineer Firewalls & Load Balancing

The Role

We're looking for a Network Security Engineer with strong project engineering experience to support the implementation and delivery of firewall and load balancing solutions. This role is focused on hands-on deployment work, with some troubleshooting and support as part of the day-to-day.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement firewall solutions, primarily FortiGate, across enterprise environments
• Deploy and configure load balancers (e.g. F5 LTM/GTM), setting up VIPs, health monitors, and traffic policies
• Work on project-based engineering tasks, from planning through to implementation and go-live
• Create and maintain design documentation (HLDs/LLDs) for proposed network changes
• Configure and optimise security policies, VPNs, and rule bases to support business requirements
• Support troubleshooting of firewall and load balancing issues, working through to resolution
• Collaborate with wider network, security, and project teams to ensure smooth delivery

What You'll Need

• Solid hands-on experience with FortiGate firewalls (policies, VPNs, rule base management)
• Experience with load balancing technologies (F5 or equivalent)
• Proven background in project engineering and implementation work, not just BAU support
• Working knowledge of troubleshooting network security issues
• Good communication skills and ability to produce clear technical documentation
• Comfortable working across multiple projects and stakeholders

Nice to Have

• Fortinet certifications (NSE 4/5/7)
• Experience with additional firewall vendors (Palo Alto, Check Point, Juniper)
• Exposure to SD-WAN
